Floral + French Inspired Baby Shower

Floral + Swan Baby Shower Invitation Kailey Marie DesignsA floral and french inspired baby shower for a very loved mama-to-be and bébé girl on the way! It so was fun dreaming up the details for this oh-so-sweet event. When I found out my cousin, Annie, {my only Colorado relative!} was expecting a little girl, I did not resist the urge to plan all the girly things.

I’ve been a long time admirer of artist, mother, blogger; Kelli Murray, and have been eyeing her swan illustration for quite some time now. When Annie mentioned liking floral for the overall theme, I knew incorporating this feminine swan detail would be perfect. Annie has also been studying French for quite some time, so I thought it would be fun to incorporate this. If I’m being completely honest though, Baby Shower in French is, well…an interesting phrase written out (google it!), so just plain “bébé” it was!Floral + Swan Baby Shower Invitation Kailey Marie Designs Floral + Swan Baby Shower Invitation Kailey Marie DesignsStill swooning over the rose gold detail on the invitations! Invitation photography by Angie Terrell. Please excuse the rest of my non-professional photos…

The entire day came together better than I had imagined in my head. I’m notorious for dreaming up all of these lovely visions in my head but not actually having an execution plan until the day of. It makes it really hard for people to help, and puts a lot of pressure on myself, but by some saving grace I am typically able to pull it together. We held the baby shower at Annie’s ( and her husband, Jacob’s) home in Denver. Can you say house goals? <3Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie DesignsFloral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie DesignsThese desserts from Sarah B Bakery were just too perfect! How cute and dainty are these swan cookies?! The cake was one of those “in my head visions” finalized by yours truly. Sarah made me a semi-naked cake and I added all of the finishing touches. Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs

The vintage floral china and colored goblet rentals were by far my favorite detail! I found it all locally and Laurie from Patina Preferred was the sweetest to work with. Also, my go-to party planning detail: customized cocktail napkins! I let out a little shriek of excitement when I opened these. I mean…that foiling on that watercolor is just…perfection.  Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs

It was apparent some of these questions were a bit challenging.Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs

Guests were sent home with rosé gummy bear favors topped with custom swan stickers. Super cute and super yummy!  Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie DesignsSo Annie and I are actually second cousins. Our moms are cousins, but they’re really more like sisters and it’s been that way our entire life. Anyway, all of Annie’s special ladies flew in and it was a really fun day with everyone together. Nothing says family like unplanned coordinating wardrobes 🙂 Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs Annie’s sister-in-law, Sheryl, patiently held that balloon while I tied tiny pieces of greenery to the string. Bless her soul! I also did her wedding invitations, which you’ll be seeing more of soon! Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs Floral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie DesignsFloral Swan Baby Shower - Kailey Marie Designs

All in all it was a beautiful day! And I can’t wait to welcome that sweet bébé girl into this world. It’s also becoming more and more obvious that I really love to plan events. There is no way in this current stage of life it’s even possible to do it outside of for my people, but a girl can dream! I’ll just keep waiting for my sister to get engaged or something…

SIDE NOTE: As you probably gathered, my mom was in town and it’s always nice to have an extra set of eyes and ears to help see my creative visions through. She has always been the encouragement behind my creative juices, so it’s really fun to share the excitement of it all coming together. She stayed with us for almost two weeks and was an absolute lifesaver. I am so grateful for her, and seriously dread her leaving every time. You know that saying “it gets easier with time?” Not true. Nope. Not one bit. I love you, Mama!
